As a contribution to an initiative by Saxony’s federal government for more high-speed internet access points in rural areas, we studied a sample of twelve rural locations. Following the examination of supply and demand, suggestions were made for each location as to how and with the help of which technology the respective location could be connected to the information highway.
The study was compiled by a project group consisting of TU Dresden, Tele-Kabel-Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH Chemnitz and Teleconnect GmbH. The main focus of Teleconnect’s input was on the analyses of network access topology and technology.
