While many venture studios prioritize the financial aspects of their involvement, technology is much closer to our hearts. We have been in the business of creating, building and then successfully reselling (joint) ventures through technology leadership for many years.
To this end, we have brought together a unique team in the heart of Silicon-Saxony, which primarily supports hardware-focused start-ups and founders in casting their technology into a product concept, validating it in the market, and then using prototypes to arrive at a start-up concept that can be founded. Here, the protection of intellectual property can be an important tool to convince investors of the value of the startup.
As you can see, we are primarily involved in the pre-seed and seed phases and may invest in your concept with you.

What we do
We are looking for people with a (product) vision that we can believe in. When we find you, we invest in you and roll up our sleeves. We will work with you in a timed iterative process to accelerate your market validation and product development.
Our experienced development team will address the most difficult technical issues, while our launch team will carry out the market validation, possibly enriched with external experts in patent law and other topics. Our goal is to substantiate the technology, market and capital risks of your topic with measures that will result in an investable startup.
The result is that you can concentrate on your product without having to build up an organization at the same time. This not only saves time and money, but above all limits the risk by making pivots possible again and again, should the first idea not immediately become a unicorn.
In the end, we are there as co-investors to let the startup fly independently of Teleconnect. All part of the investable startup.
Hardware start-ups are the most interesting in our eyes. But it remains a difficult sector. There are a number of things to think about in the development process of hardware products:
1. Hardware requires specialized equipment and software licenses, especially if the technology is to be unique and high performing. If you have to purchase this test equipment, you need a higher investment than in a software company. Teleconnect has a fully equipped laboratory focused on hardware development.
2. As a rule, hardware development is not quite as agile as software development. This means that you have to pay very close attention to how you develop, otherwise it becomes lengthy and even more expensive. Our colleagues at Teleconnect are experienced hardware developers and PCB layouters who ensure that the number of iterations is minimized.
3. Nowadays, hardware development, especially in the EU, is highly regulated and you have to comply with many standards and laws before you can bring a product to market. This requires a partner who can ensure this for the specific application. Teleconnect has a proprietary, modular development process that ensures that the development results stand up to the tests.
4. At Teleconnect, we work on the development of hardware products every day. We know how difficult that is. We know how important it is to take time at the right time to explore different options and make the right decisions during development cycles.

At Teleconnect Venture Studio, we focus 100% on hardware startups. Hardware development is completely different and requires a different focus than software development. And a different way of investing.
Simply contact us via our contact form and let us know that you are interested in working with Venture Studio. If you have one, you can also upload your current pitch deck or product concept. We will then complete the NDA as soon as we are in contact.
We have a proven, iterative investment and market validation process. After initial research and a positive assessment, we work together to create your A-sample, proof-of-concept or improve the development of your existing technology. Then we let our engineers work on your idea to reach the next financing round as a team. We introduce you to investors from day one and help you refine your pitch, business model, legal structure, funding approach, intellectual property, marketing and operational readiness. We make sure your company is investment-ready and work together as a team to secure the next round of funding.
The exact percentage split is determined on a case-by-case basis in a letter of intent that we issue to companies accepted into the Studio program.

Our goal is not to stay in the company until the IPO, but to exit earlier. Our added value lies in the early stages of venturing.
Dresden is of course always worth a visit. Nevertheless, if you don't want to be involved in development, it's not necessary to be there permanently. There's usually not that much to see that you couldn't present well via MS Teams.
We mainly meet with investors and at trade fairs!
